The walk begins in the vineyards of appellation Mercurey 1er Cru with evocative names: Paradise, Montaigus ... You will then stroll through the village, admire its old houses typically Burgundy, on which we can discover the remains of the medieval castle of Montaigu. This castle, whose ruins still remain near the village, has long been a career. This site is now a private property. You will discover the church dedicated to St. Martin whose bell tower dates from the eleventh century and the Romanesque chapel dates from the twelfth or thirteenth century. The double-sided cross in the small garden in front of the church, dates from 1686. Finding the starting point From Mercurey on the D155, cross the village straight up to a small square. After the plot take the first street on the right and it is at the end of the street, on the car park said Bouères. In front of the totem of departure, climb facing you, rue du Clos de Montaigu. Continue straight, you take a paved path. On your right is the Clos du Paradis, bench to stop. Continue straight, stay on the tarred road, then turn right (1) at the signaling totem. The grassy trail descends between the Clos des Montaigus and the Clos du Paradis. Squeeze right along the vineyard, then take the narrow path between two stone walls. Left, old water tower buried. Pass the stones blocking the path and go down the rue de Boussoy on the right (2). Beautiful view of the village and the plain of Chalon-sur-Saone. Cross the D48, take the Rue des Blés opposite, continue to the cemetery. Turn right (3), street under the Well, take right again (4) Rue du Clos. Go up to the Place de Corcelles. Go up the rue des Marronniers, then the rue du Clos de Montaigu, arrival at the Bouères car park.
