  • Walk in the heart of the forests of charms and oaks.

  • The Charmée is located 8 km south of Chalon-sur-Saone. One evokes CARMEDA, parish of the word St Odilon, for the origin of the name, then one speaks about La Charmée, drawn from the name "charm" which means planted with charms of wood. It seems that the first populations have gathered south of the town (the citadel) closer to the woods and ponds where the resources existed. Then, as a result of land clearing, the families moved to their crops that were moving away .... And so is born the...

Then, as a result of land clearing, the families moved to their crops that were moving away .... And so is born the "Champ Rondot", the "Château Gaillard", the hamlet of Siena. Today, the habitat is grouped together, and in 2014 we have about 720 inhabitants called Charmillats. The Horn, a small river with fish that runs through the village, has its source in St Vallerin and flows into the Saone at Lux, after receiving the Orbize. To get to the starting point, you have to go to 5 rue du Pont Larcher, in Charmée.
