This loop through fields and woods will take you to Farges-les-Chalon, a town located in the Thalie valley and adjoining the Champforgeuil aerodrome. You can discover the church of Farges from the 19th century with Romanesque re-uses from the 11th and 12th centuries. Finding the starting point: The starting totem is located Place des Platanes near the Saint-Nicolas wash house. Take rue Chaumont along the stream to the sign post for green walks. (1) Take the dirt road on the right which leads after a few meters to the fields. (2) Then follow a path on the left between housing estate and fields. (3) Leave the path and turn right to walk along the cemetery. Follow the wide dirt road that crosses the fields. Leave the electrical transformer on the left and continue to the marked fork. (4) At the signs, follow the path to the right (Farges via the Bois de Nainglet). (5) At the ONF barrier, continue straight across the railway bridge and reach the church of Farges. (6) Turn left into rue de Montet, pass in front of the multi-purpose hall and the cemetery, then continue to the bridge, known as Pont-de-Bois, which crosses the railway line. You are on a dirt road from the exit of the village. At the fork before the electrical transformer, head back in the direction of Fontaines. You can see the Tour Saint-Hilaire on the left at the top of the hill overlooking Fontaines. Continue passing in front of the cemetery then take the starting path in the opposite direction, following the indications of the directional signs which lead back to the Saint-Nicolas washhouse (FO3).
