Find the starting point From the door of the Town hall, take the street of the Town hall in the direction of the hills. Leave the round hall on the left and continue straight on through rue de Varanges then Bois Chevaux to the wash house. You are there. Join the foot of the vineyard at a place called "Les Bois Chevaux" then right until a place called "Vaux". Take straight towards "Varanges"; climb the steep and stony path to the clearing of "Varanges". Viewpoint over Givry and the forest. Leave the statue of the Virgin on the left and go straight up on a wide path in the middle of the pines to the place called "Chaume de Givry" (1). Always go straight up and after the chain that closes access to vehicles, at the fork take the left path through the woods to the top of the hill. Panorama on the right on Mercurey and Aluze. At a place called "Les Bouloises" (2), turn left towards Russilly. Cross and close the barrier. We arrive at the limestone thatch, the path at this location follows the route of the GR7. Attention, stay on the middle of the meadow and look for the markers painted on the ground. Cross the thatched direction due south; join the path downhill to the "Chaume de Russilly" (3); cross and close the barrier. Pass a goat farm, turn left and then the fountain still left. Go down the road for 50 m and take the path on the left (make a detour down, to admire the old banal oven and the washhouse). The path goes at the foot of the Sacré Coeur statue then joins the forest. At the bottom of the descent, turn right, pass the chain which bars the access to find you at a place called "Chenêvres" (4). Go down the wide stony path to the left to a place called "Clos Salomon" (5), then on the left to the bottom of the hill, "Les Grands Prétants" (6). Turn left, admire the small vineyards and reach the starting point.
