France Nature Environnement 71 invites you to this café debate, which will open with an introduction by Paul Brunod of the Société d'Histoire Naturelle d'Autun (SHNA).

This expert will talk about their habitats and the various issues at stake: urban planning, forests, caves, hedges, pesticides, the decline in insect biodiversity, etc., as well as identification and counting techniques.

Discussions with the participants, enlightened by examples of local situations, will make this café-debate a rich and convivial moment.

Discovering these small, discreet animals means taking an interest in all aspects of the environment. From their symbolic power in the human imagination, to the fantasised health risk, to the ecological disaster where they disappear, bats are an essential link in understanding how we sometimes saw off the branch on which we are sitting without realising it, and how, in our daily lives, we are gambling with our future by protecting that of the little creatures that often go unnoticed outside our windows in the evening. To know how to act, we need to get to know and love them.
